He spent his youth making a myriad of bad decisions that led him to where he was now— too deep into organized crime to leave without a bullet through his skull. The Shadow Company wasn’t bad, per se. It put food on his table and kept a roof over his head. Plus, it had been so long since Soap had seen himself as anything but a dispensable tool that the thought of being human never even crossed his mind these days. He was a good asset, and that kept him alive and in good standing— the only thing that mattered in the Company.
