As I had continued to stare upward, arms outstretched, longing to grab a little slice of heaven, starry eyes deep in the stars–
…that's when my father took the opportunity to leave me without so much as a word.
Summary: Kaeya is abandoned by his father, only to find another family he didn't expect. Grieving, anxious and silent, Crepus tries to comfort him and somehow let him know that he's safe.

Kaeya couldn't bear to look at the redhead. Fists clenched against the counter, leaning in, he took a deep breath. He didn't know why, but something angered him about being so easy to read, by the one person he felt like he could never be himself around anymore. And yet, it was as though Diluc was letting down his own walls, as if to say enough is enough.
“Why does it matter if I’m not nervous enough? Since when does something like that matter–”
After defending Mondstadt, an opportunity appears for Diluc and Kaeya to talk more. And there's one question that Diluc never answered.
