Summary
It's fitting, Michizou thinks, that his past comes to haunt him when he's drunk and half-dressed, leg thrown over the side of whoever's bathtub he's in. It might be Higuchi's. It's hazy — could be his fault, could be the cigarette smoke in the air.
There are frantic, agitated gestures, so familiar and so foreign in front of him.
Michizou waves them off lazily. It's a dick move. He knows that. "I'm — outta practice and half-here, man. Don't start yelling at me now."
There's an annoyed huff. Then a quiet, seething, "this is pathetic," and Michizou knows that, and he doesn't care. If he was supposed to care, he wouldn't be here, at a party, at university, or even living at all.
Then, when Michizou is beginning to come to his senses and wonder why Gin Akutagawa has tracked him down this far, Gin gives a self-defeated, "I need your help."
or, tachihara michizou is a university student with a debt to pay, gin akutagawa is a monster hunter with more vices than she cares to admit, and higuchi ichiyou has never known how to quit when she's ahead. it's a love story for the ages.

“Tsushima Shuuji,” Chuuya reads out loud. “A bright, optimistic young man with a pep in his step and a zest for life. Hang on–is this referring to you?”
“Unfortunately,” Dazai laments, sighing dramatically. “You just got away with ‘science nerd’ and ‘soccer player,’ but I’m supposed to be an artist! I hate art! It’s useless!”
“Shut the fuck up. That’s not the problem here. You? A ‘zest for life?’ Looking forward to each new morning? Hah! Rimbaud would sooner come back to life.”
Dazai turns to Chuuya with the barest facsimile of a smile painted over his lips.
“I,” he says sweetly, “am going to gut you open like a fish.”
Dazai and Chuuya are seasoned mafiosos at the ripe old age of almost-seventeen. They’ve fought gang wars, interrogated prisoners, and done all manner of unspeakable things. Now, they face their greatest challenge yet: going (undercover) to a real high school. With regular teens (who may or may not be desperately trying to get them to kiss).

Before he can think too much about it, Tachihara leans in with a ferocious snarl. Junichirou's collar is dragged downwards as the cold barrel of a gun connects with his skin, sending a shiver down his spine. He looks up, staring into guarded brown eyes that glint dangerously in this light.
Instinctively, Light Snow thrums under his veins. His world begins flickering, but an even harsher press of the gun drags him back to reality.
“You won’t survive more than a week here if that’s your go-to, Illusionist,” Tachihara hisses. “Welcome to the real world.”
