With Gods, there was an order to things. It was the role of mortals to worship, to bend the knee in supplication, to make offerings. Meanwhile, it was the role of Gods to be worshipped, to ask and receive, and offer blessings in return for their followers’ devotion.
Childe would make no mistake with regards to what role he fulfilled.
The temple offered him no room for doubt, after all. It was not a temple made in his honor, or even the honor of any of his fellow Harbingers, blessed though they were by the Tsaritsa. No, the mild autumn wind rustling the leaves of the ginkgo trees that lined the overgrown path to the temple made sure that he didn’t forget where he was headed, and which God he was to make an offering to this night.

Summary
Canon-divergent AU where instead of being sent to the Library by the Purple Tear, Roland is instead recruited by Argalia to his ensemble.
Having failed to find and punish the one responsible for taking Angelica away from him, Roland finds himself out of options after his demotion to Grade 9 in the aftermath of his rampage across the City. Argalia, meanwhile, is keen on sinking his claws into Roland to make him suffer for his sin of taking his precious sister away... And then failing to even protect her in the end. As he begins to put together his ensemble, Roland's sorrow and rage begins to look like a rather convenient tool to suit his ends.
