It made perfect logical sense. After a period of stress and him taking his suppressants irregularly, coupled with him throwing out his Clonazepam , he would be dumb to not expect a rut or even just a flare-up. Yet now was just frankly the worst possible timing for it, he thought, his nails digging into the flesh of his palms as the familiar warmth settled behind his eyes.
Honestly, if he was back at his small temporary apartment it would have been fine. He would have ordered some calming meds and spent the weekend helplessly thrashing on the bed. Nothing unusual. But he just couldn’t catch a break these days, standing dead center in the London Motherhouse’s living room. Waiting for Jasper.
Guy almost whined at the thought, his nails digging deeper as the image of the vampire swam like a mirage in his mind. His hair splayed over the silken pillows of the master bedroom, the usually pale cheekbones dusted with rose, those striking eyes staring up at him in a haze. Oh Guy was gone.

Guy was never the one to catch colds. He spent winters studying and doing part time jobs when his classmates would have to take NyQuil. He'd get confused looks from doctors when he'd tell them he last had a cold years ago. It was just never his thing, god he didn't even have any cold medicine in his meds cabinet, nevermind that it was just Klonopin and a couple bandaids.

In which Guy tries to solve his abandonment issues with marriage, Jasper weighs the pros and cons of falling in love with a one-night stand, and everyone takes everything way too fast. But at least they're keeping their heads about it... right?

With a mere four days to go before he starts working at a prestigious law firm, Guy knows he needs to kick the caffeine habit to have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting to the office for 9am. But when one last trip to his favourite coffee shop results in Guy crossing paths with a mysterious stranger, he finds himself returning again and again in the hopes of meeting him one more time.
Or: Jasper travels to New York to investigate the human telepath the Talamasca have their eyes on recruiting to their corrupt ranks. One well-placed thought about how poorly Guy dresses for someone so pretty is all the bait he needs to hook the boy on a different path.

Those terrifying eyes stare at him, and he stares back even as the pulse pound of his heart roars, thumpthump thumpthump, a pace that Jasper can surely feel under his hand. No heat seeps through the touch but the press of it roots him even as it unmoors him. Jasper has moved closer somehow, the negligible height difference between them means that they’re now eye to eye. He wants to blink; he wants to look away; he wants to flinch.

“With you?” Guy laughs. And the thought you tried to kill me yourself crosses his mind, because of course it does and maybe it always will, and he knows Jasper is expecting him to voice it. But they’ve already fought about it, haven’t they? And it’s not what’s really concerning Guy right now. “From what I can see, you can’t even protect yourself.”
Post-season 1, after Jasper escapes Amsterdam and Guy is dragged back into the Talamasca, they continue to meet in secret when they can.
