Stan started smelling a sweet but spicy scent. It smelled just like gingersnaps, and as the seconds went by, it became more apparent. Stan’s eyes widened with realization as he looked back at Kyle, immediately putting his hand on Kyle’s shoulder.
"I think he’s entering his first actual heat." Stan could barely say the words, not wanting to attract any attention from the other people in the cafeteria.

Any love they had for the child evaporated, turning into pure disgust at both themselves for producing such a freak and him for the intolerable act of simply existing. As is custom, they gave the baby back to the hospital, and he was sent to the Green Valley Quirkless Child Center. His first name was kept, but his surname was changed to Midoriya, branding him forever as quirkless, as nothing.
