Summary
Clark has waited his whole life for his soulmate's name, wondering if he'll even have one. But when a nonsensical phrase appears on his wrist, he's devastated. What on earth is Batman? Later, he meets the charismatic and vapid Bruce Wayne. Bruce is charming and overly flirty, but Clark quickly realizes there's more to the millionaire than meets the eye. When he does meet his supposed soulmate, Batman is cold and aloof, leaving Clark more confused than ever. Clark is torn. He likes Bruce, but he's still drawn to Batman, despite the Dark Knight's coldness towards him. Clark thinks Batman hates him, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Bruce isn't concerned with soulmates. Nothing matters except his mission. He barely cares when the name appears. But when he discovers a connection between his soulmate and the mysterious new meta the news is calling Superman, he decides to do some digging, starting with Clark Kent. He invites him to one of the Wayne Galas, and he's immediately struck by how gorgeous Clark is. As he and Clark get closer, Bruce starts to feel guilty. Clark can never know that they're soulmates or his secret identity. That still doesn't stop him from wanting more.

This, of course, results in all the leaders of Albion beginning their attempts to win the elusive Emrys’ favor, in order to be chosen as his prophesied King.
