It's been a week since Lex revealed the truth to Lena, and she is still struggling with her emotions.
Having successfully dodged Kara for the last seven days, it isn't until she sees Supergirl get badly injured on TV and has a conversation with someone completely uexpected that Lena finally sees things from a different perspective.
Is it too late? Or can a Super and a Luthor still find their happy ending?
(This is purely because my gay heart can't stand angst, and GOT was too much of a shambles so I needed a distraction)

“You know you can’t lie to me.” Lena says quietly, her smile only growing. She leans closer around the tiny table and her hand lands on Kara’s thigh, fingers spreading out and nails digging in ever so slightly. “Does me buying things turn you on, Kara?”
Even if Kara’s fumbled words don’t confirm Lena’s suspicions, she’s pretty sure that the crimson blush creeping up her neck is doing it for her. Lena surreptitiously moves her chair closer and leans into Kara’s space, breath hot on her cheek, and kisses a bright red lipstick mark onto the curve of her jaw.
“Noted.”

Kara's eyes welled with relieved tears to see her standing there--to see her alive and well and so, so beautiful as if none of those horrible things had ever happened. As if she'd never hurt her. Never lied.
Lena seemed to sense that she was no longer alone in her office and she turned away from her window, her eyebrow lifting in genuine surprise.
"Was there something else, Miss Danvers?" Lena asked in a professional tone while she amended her stance to be closed off and suspicious.
Kara couldn't help but laugh--it was a reflex.
This was the moment, and she wasn't going to mess if up a second time.
Kara forced her face into an amiable expression and tried to soften her gaze as she approached Lena with her hand outstretched--offering everything. Everything that had never happened, and everything that could be.
"Actually, there is." Kara took a deep breath, pushing down her giddy nerves, and plastered on her biggest grin, "I wanted to tell you that beneath all this, I'm Supergirl. And I wanted to welcome you to National City."---

Summary
Kara Danvers has been around fire nearly her whole life. She trained years to be a firefighter and protect others from the hazard of fire. But she also recognizes the beauty of fire. The way that something must burn to be rebuilt into something bigger. There’s also a beauty in the fire that she finds coiling within herself at the presence of Lena Luthor. She smiles at the Luthor as she’s ushered from the burning building to the back of an ambulance. “I do love you, Lena.”
Lena stops in her tracks, looking to Kara’s form being laid in the back of the ambulance. The doors shut tight with a click and Lena is standing behind them as they drive away from Lena to the closest hospital. The closest hospital which isn’t Luthor Medical. To have studied eight years in medicine and not save the one person you love, she’s being torn in pieces as the ambulance drives farther away. Kara’s fate that much farther from her knowledge. Not knowing if she would make it, if the fire inside Kara would burn out or if it would stay sparked. She just needed Kara’s fire to stay sparked for a while longer, if for no other reason than to tell Kara she loves her as well.

Summary
Kara tries to reject her humanity and shuts everyone around her out. Lena is able to pull her back into Kara’s skin and out of Supergirl’s armour.
As Lena and Kara grow closer, Lena start to become more suspicious. Lena is dangerously close to finding out the truth when Alex puts herself in danger and Kara is forced to act. When Lena’s suspicions start to grow, Kara tries distancing herself again but soon finds it is a waste of energy to try and stay away from Lena Luthor, for their beating hearts are drawn to each other like magnets.When Alex breaks up with Maggie, she falls into a depressive state that goes along with excessive drinking and reckless behavior. After one drink too many, Alex ends up in a dangerous situation which puts both her life and keeping Kara’s secret identity from Lena at risk. Kara and Lena decide Alex needs help and Sam offers for Alex to help her out with watching over Ruby. Alex isn’t sure if the feelings that she starts to develop towards Sam are purely out of gratitude and admiration, and Sam prays to God that whatever she is feeling for Alex is just because her bonding so well with Ruby.
Takes place throughout the beginning of season 3. Supercorp centric.
