When Lucy imagined what her life would be like at the age of twenty-four, she hadn't pictured that she would be a college dropout and being her younger brother's legal guardian. Or that she would be involved in a music video for her brother's favorite band, The Wastelanders.
And she definitely didn't picture that there would be something about the band's lead singer, known only as the Ghoul to the public, that would take her life down an unexpected path.

“Okey dokey.” she heard herself say.
“Okey dokey?” Cooper looked at her, the confusion clear on his face.
“You hand me over to my dad, and you know that your daughter is safe.” Lucy explained as she looked at him. “And I get to bring him to justice.”
“And what happens after?” he asked as he looked at her. “We got no idea who else is with him, and what they would do to protect him.”
“I guess it’s a good thing that you wouldn’t let anything happen to me.”
“What if I can’t get to you? I ain’t riskin’ your life.” Cooper said as he pushed himself to his feet.
“Not even for your daughter?” Lucy looked at him and wondered if he could see the confusion in her eyes.
An opportunity presents itself to Lucy and Cooper when it comes to dealing with Hank

“Do you want to have sex?”
Cooper felt his body freeze at the question and his hand flexed against her hip. He swallowed at the feeling of her hand sliding from his shoulder to rest on his upper arm, and he couldn’t stop the images that only played in his mind when the sun went down.
“Because I want to have sex.” Lucy continued as she moved closer, causing his hand to slide until it rested on her lower back.
He squeezed his eyes shut and took a breath. When he opened his eyes, he kept his attention on the door ahead of them and let his arm drop back to his side.
“That’s the drugs talkin’, sweetheart.” Cooper muttered.
When Lucy gets seriously injured, the measures taken to save her put Cooper into a situation he hadn't seen coming.
