Summary
Back at the clock tower some hours later, Pluto finds himself dunking weird magical mushroom after weird magical mushroom into a bowl of water, squeezing the tops to try and work the spores out into the water. "Is this safe?" he asks no one in particular. "Am I gonna, like, turn into some kind of monster because the spores are all over my hands?"
"No," Veo says, tail swishing from where she's sitting, up on one of the rafters. "I mean… probably not?"
Pluto sighs a very put-upon sigh, head lolling back and shoulders slumping as he does, "I'll bet I don't even turn into something cool."

Summary
Pluto grapples with that trope where someone recognizes their loved one is or isn't who they say they are simply by virtue of knowing them well enough.
Based on this tiny snippet of conversation from s1e46:
River: When Sebastian disappeared and came back, how did you know it was still him?
Pluto: I looked into his eyes? -

Summary
"I miss you, Laios," he murmurs, voice soft and mournful.
Laios makes a confused sound in his throat. "Here," he asserts.
Chilchuck shakes his head, burrowing a little tighter against Laios's chest in the process. He doesn't know how to explain in a way that will make Laios understand. He's here, but he isn't. He's Laios, but he isn't.

Summary
He's watched Chilchuck sleep from time to time before (fleeting, stolen glimpses, never lasting very long), but it's different this close; expression smoothed out in peaceful slumber, Laios feels as though he could memorize every feature of Chilchuck's face like this.

Summary
Laios pours himself and Chilchuck both another helping of wine.
"Marcille's going to be so disappointed..." Chilchuck sighs. "I never should have let her talk me into going back," he adds, swirling the wine in his chalice idly before lifting it to his lips and drinking deeply. "I knew it would end like this. I knew it, but I let myself get swept up in her idea of this hopelessly romantic version of events." He leans heavily against the arm of the settee, bringing his chalice back to his lips as he mutters, "Real life isn't anything like those stories of hers."

Summary
Things don't go as planned during the final confrontation with the Winged Lion, and Laios loses his identity, trapped in the body and mind of an animal. When he emerges from the dungeon after months, barely humanoid and mentally feral, it's Chilchuck who finds him and is tasked with helping Laios fix what's been broken.
Taking back his identity is only half of the puzzle, though. Laios is hardly fit for the responsibility he's soon saddled with, yet there are no other options; his friends will do what they can to ease the burden, but ultimately, Laios needs to somehow rise to the challenge.
His intense emotional attachment to Chilchuck overrides all else, but turning a beast back into a man is a bigger task than Chilchuck has ever tackled before, and he's not sure he can pull it off.

Summary
They're all freezing, their ears and noses varying shades of pink from the bitter cold; Chilchuck's neck warmer is pulled up around his ears, perhaps more sensitive to the cold than any of them. Not one of them wants this miserable experience to take any longer than it has to.

Summary
A mission gone wrong throws Snake into a temporal distortion that gives him another shot at getting it right, but there are more dangers lurking around every corner than he'd initially thought. With Otacon on the outside of the distortion and thus unaware that it's happening, Snake finds himself on his own when it comes to solving it and putting things back to normal—unless he can convince Otacon of what's happening and, more importantly, to help him through every iteration even when it means sending him into the same perilous mission over and over again.

Summary
It isn't an earth-shattering revelation, nor even a particularly surprising one, but it's meaningful all the same: it's difficult to imagine life without Harry, anymore.
