    In a moment of weakness, (barely) married superstore supervisor Amy Dubanowski hires Jonah, a male escort. After a more than satisfying night, she opens up, confessing things she hasn't told her therapist or nosy (but uncomfortably supportive) boss, thinking she would never see him again.

    Unfortunately, the next day she must train their new hire, broke dropout Jonah Simms.

    Drowning in debt and another bout of not-so-seasonal depression, Jonah would take literally anything he can get (preferably legal, but he's not picky). So when avoiding each other becomes too hard, they form a deal. With money she doesn't have and time she can't spare, Amy will hire Jonah to be her friend, to help her study or just let her vent, but no sex, not again. Jonah gets the cash he needs to make frayed ends meet, Amy gets the companionship she was missing from her unfulfilling marriage, and they both get the promise of mutually assured destruction.

    But pinky swears are meant to be broken and so are hearts, so when feelings emerge from the wreckage of their lives, it's not wholly unsurprising but not in the least welcome.

    genuinely really good and I need more. Shakes up their dynamic and I get kinda tired of minimizing jonah's stuff in the show constantly so this is nice since Amy is the one technically 'above' Jonah in terms of having a family, a house, and a stable job.

    Kei wishes he could delineate the gap in Yamaguchi's memory. He remembered his old flip phone from first year, but he didn't remember Takeda. Does that mean his memories stop somewhere before they joined the volleyball club, or is it less clear-cut than that? It probably isn't fair to ask Yamaguchi what he can and can't remember. It's like asking him to remember the last footprint he left.

    In other words - Yamaguchi forgets, and Kei starts to realise something he should have known all along.

    "What if we're not late bloomers?" Deku had asked him once when they were very young. “What if we don’t get our quirks? What if our quirks never come for our whole lives?”

    Katsuki hadn't been able to answer, then. All he'd known was that they'd be able to do anything together, even if the hero business tried to spit them out just because they were missing bits and pieces. That was until Deku'd told him the truth, anyway. That he'd been hiding a quirk for ten years and Katsuki had just been stupid and trusting.

    He doesn't get into UA. Deku leaves him behind and lives the dream alone. Katsuki picks up modelling and turns out to be surprisingly good at it, and after a while he thinks maybe he can make peace with never becoming a hero. This ain't a bad life, after all. There are stalkers and endless reporters but maybe he can make this work.

    For all of six years, anyway. Then he figures out his new neighbour has green eyes and cute freckles. And then, Katsuki thinks, maybe god hates him.
