Summary
Aziraphale was getting bored of his reclusive angelic life. He had spent 6000 years on Earth, and his closest confidant was a first edition of a book that no one knew. Then came a mysterious stranger, and Aziraphale finally found something worth actively living for.

Crowley has been watching Aziraphale from afar for 6000 years, and the vague threat of Armageddon spurs them into finally acting on their feelings. The only issue is that they can't let Aziraphale know they're a demon or their chances of wooing him would disappear.Aziraphale knows.

Crowley has just moved themselves and their plants to their soon-to-be plant shop in Soho (next to Aziraphale's bookshop), but hasn't exactly found a place to stay. Aziraphale finds out that Crowley's been sleeping in the back of their shop, and insists they stay with him.Aziraphale is nefariously plotting to get Crowley to fall for him, and Crowley is trying to hide their demonic nature.

Crowley's life seems like it's finally falling into place: his floral shop has begun to gain an undercurrent of appreciation in the design elite of London, and he might have even finally found a boyfriend who looks just right lounging on his Tenreiro sofa. Things seem almost perfect, until one day the empty shop across the street is leased to frumpy fellow Oxford alumni, who doesn't seem to remember Crowley nearly as well as he remembers him, which really shouldn't bother him as much as it does - it was ten years ago after all, and it wasn't even that good of a kiss.

Two great hands were constricting Aziraphale’s lungs. He fought back an undignified wheeze. “Yes, I think so.”
“I can do that,” he croaked.

In a panic, Aziraphale tells the archangels he survived hellfire due to his soul mixing with Crowley's because they're in a romantic and sexual relationship. They want him to prove it. Cue a fake relationship.Series

A Modern day Merlin AU set at the University of St Andrews, featuring teetotal kickboxers, secret wizards, magnificent bodyguards of various genders, irate fairies, imprisoned dragons, crumbling gothic architecture, arrogant princes, adorable engineering students, stolen gold, magical doorways, attempted assassination, drunken students, shaving foam fights, embarrassing mornings after, The Hammer Dance, duty, responsibility, friendship and true love...
This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::
