“He doesn’t smell like anything. I can literally see the shiny blocker on his neck,” he told him back then. “We use the same brand, and it’s pretty good.”
It left Hyunjin confused. He wasn’t able to pick up on Felix’s scent, and he also saw the thin sheen of scent blocker on him. Then why on earth did the smell of warm, sugary pastries still occasionally hit his nose?
He never brought it up to Jeongin. He chalked it up to the scent being too dear to him and his brain hallucinating it once in a while to either make him very confused or calm him down.
Or: Hyunjin is a model, Jeongin is his stylist. Hyunjin has been in love with him since forever... his wolf is decidedly not happy with their relationship being strictly "just friends"

Technically speaking, Jeongin knew that. He was well aware of how there needed to be a balance, a sort of equilibrium that kept the world running. After some research, they found out that this might be because of finding one’s soulmate. Not everyone in the world possessed one—most didn’t—but it wasn’t an unknown phenomenon. Although it wasn’t scientifically proven, it occurred frequently enough throughout history and in modern times for people to believe in it.
Hyunjin had wondered then—since his scent was also out of the ordinary—was it possible he was also fated to encounter his perfect match someday? Was that why the records he read mentioned that the scent of each pair always complemented each other—unique alone, but harmonious together?
