It’s bullshit, Daniel thought, on his third try of the night. He wasn’t sure why he kept calling. Searching for someone to answer his prayers, he guessed, but the endeavor seemed to be futile. So, there he was, at two in the morning in NYC, New York, sitting on his fire escape at the ripe age of sixty-eight, trying and failing for the third time that night to save his life via iPhone 13.
OR
Daniel gets his Parkinson's diagnosis and considers killing himself about it. Armand, ever the level-headed vampire, decides that he needs to Fix This!

Daniel thought he may have just won the award for the worst possible time to lose his passport: immediately post-bomb-drop with the trial script, and alone in the penthouse with a very angry vampire.
Louis had told Armand not to touch him before he left, but would that have any sort of meaning now? The whole Maitre thing was definitely over. There was nothing stopping Armand from coming in here to kill Daniel, because he couldn’t leave. Rest in peace, Daniel Molloy. Died because he provoked an ancient vampire and then couldn’t keep track of his stuff when it actually mattered.
Couldn’t Armand just stay in the hole he’d made in the wall? It would be so much easier for Daniel if he just stayed in the hole in the wall.
“Daniel,” Armand said, very much not in the hole in the wall.
