He leaned down, stared at Eurydice, wondering if he should wake her up. He ran his fingers through her bangs, softly telling her good morning. He could tell she was still in dreamland, and her foot moved to kick him. A giggle burst from his chest. Her face twitched again, eyelashes fluttering. She coughed, sitting up slowly. Orpheus reached to cradle her face. She smiled, dazed, and rested her hand over his. “Good morning, Sunshine.” He sobbed.
“Good morning, Birdie.” Eurydice cried, pressing her forehead against his. Then her lips against his eyelid.
The sunlight seeped in through the curtains, and Orpheus and Eurydice laughed in unison, still pressed against each other. Her soot-covered arms snaked around his waist, and he pressed a kiss against her neck. The smell of blood distracted him and he couldn’t tell if it was coming from her or him. Until the pad of her fingertip brushed against blood on his cheek—oh. “Let’s get you cleaned up, baby.” She coaxed.

Orpheus and Eurydice return home. They clean up and take care of each others wounds.

Summary
She had gotten used to the unnaturally bright lights, instead of the cozy darkness she had lived all her life with. The loud cacophony of axes swinging and power lines and shouting, instead of the warm, raspy voice of her lover. The pain in her arms and thighs and head from all the labor and noise, instead of the feeling of being held and loved. Now, the canary was free, and she didn’t know how to feel—Her knees cracked from the impact.
Eurydice’s lover joined her on the dewy ground, kneeling next to her. He hesitantly placed a hand on her arm, rubbing her collarbone gently with his thumb; like he would often do to soothe her. She flinched back for a moment, before recognizing that he wasn’t there to grab her harshly or make her work or force her to sing, he was there to take care of her, make sure she’s loved and knows that.
“Eddie, are you okay?” She crashed into him, sobbing. Her breath heaved. “Eurydice, are you with me?”

They make it out. But what happens when Eurydice has grown used to the conditions of Hadestown?

The alien—Grace—is finally asleep. Or, at least, Rocky thinks he is. He’s curled on his side, tucked away under a covering. Rocky sits on the other side of the alcove the human lies in, fiddling away with one of his many repair projects. Typically, watching another as they sleep is fairly straightforward and uneventful. Not much is needed beyond something to do and to keep a lookout for whoever’s resting.
But Rocky can’t help but focus more on Grace as he rests. He just can’t; the way the human sleeps is, quite literally, otherworldly.

Grace nods, but that familiar fear is creeping up on him. The one that visits him when his head hits the pillow, that makes him feel like he's just stalling the inevitable. It's silly.
All he has to do is not starve on the way to Erid. Then he'll be the only human on the planet. For the rest of his life. Which is not scary at all.
