V takes a swallow of her tequila and can’t help but notice it’s Johnny’s preferred brand. For some reason that, of all things, really sets her off.
“If you spent the past fifty years in a coma,” she blurts out. “Regrettin’ to hell and back everything that went down ‘tween you and the person you cared about most, an’ then by some miracle, you actually get the chance to say what you wish you coulda said back then...”
She’s aware it’s gotta be the liquor talkin’ at this point, but fuck, ain’t no one else in the goddamn world she can vent to about this shit. “I mean, why the fuck would you pass that up?”
It registers, then, that Kerry’s starin’ at her strangely, mouth slightly agape. “Wha—what’d you say?” he stammers.
Just then Johnny snaps into being, interposing himself between her and Kerry. “Not another fuckin’ word, V.”--
A series of vignettes largely focusing on V and Johnny's relationship and its progression over time. Each chapter is a standalone short story, arranged roughly in chronological order. The events therein are original to this fic, but are placed within context of where they would fall in the canon.

There’s a screamsheet tossed on the empty seat beside him. He stretches out a hand to flick it away when the headline catches his eye. KERRY EURODYNE SPOTTED BACK IN NIGHT CITY. Johnny presses his lips together, unfolds it to reveal the paparazzi picture of Kerry in all his rockstar glory. His eyes are hidden behind expensive shades and his grin is wide. He’s got two fingers hooked in the back pocket of some dark-haired wraith of a groupie.
johnny's got a new body, and a new life. he just doesn't have any idea what to do with it.

“You're a detective.” Amamiya shot him a wink. “You tell me.”
Of course. How irritating.
“What, no ideas?”
Amamiya’s deft fingers danced through the motions of pressing and pouring Akechi’s coffee, ever so careful and attentive.
“Love?” Akechi tried, the word heavy on his tongue. Amamiya hummed.
“Poison actually, but you came pretty close.”

“Come on, Ren-kun,” Yukari nudges Ren as he slumps. “I dove into being Pink Argus with little experience myself, and I haven’t regretted it since. Maybe you’ll feel the same.”
Ren thinks about it. His life really couldn’t and shouldn’t revolve completely around the shadow world, he supposes. And he’s not obligated to do any more than this if acting doesn’t agree with him after all.
Ann’s going to freak. Futaba is going to lose her shit.
“You remember the Phantom Thieves of Hearts business a few years back?” The director asks. “It won’t be a complete one to one, but I do have to admit that this series’ plot is loosely based on it.”
Okay, now that’s just unfair. Now Ren has to take the role.
So that’s how Ren becomes a Featherman Ranger.
Or, Amamiya Ren becomes a Featherman actor, bases his character off Akechi, and the real Akechi Goro disastrously simps from afar.
