Summary
The Owl House attracts tons of amazing fanfiction. What if the Owl House itself wasn't a real show, but instead a fanfic by the author TinyNose? What kind of response might she get? And what sort of original show might that be based on?
Bad. It would be bad.
But that doesn't mean something good can't rise from it. Through the author notes and the reader comments, follow the growth of the To Be Good fanfic The Owl House, featuring unconventional pairings, a darker tone, and deconstructions of canon.

Summary
It doesn’t know exactly when it started to understand.
At some point, when it’s maybe fifteen, it wonders—because it’s not as if it doesn’t hear people calling it “she” pretty much every day. Hadn’t it heard that as a kid as well? Even when it didn’t really interact with anyone, when it was too young to be around people, when there wasn’t really anyone talking about it. So it’s not like anyone has ever actually called it “it,” even though that’s what’s accurate since it isn’t a she. It can’t be—because it isn’t human. It’s a demon. It’s a monster.

Summary
Mira got addicted to opioids when she was at a low point in her teenage years and they have slowly taken over her entire life. She is left a husk of the bright young girl she used to be and she doesn't see a way out. On top of that, her imaginary friend from when she was a child, Rumi the magic teleporting demon, has come back in the form of an overly naggy hallucination. Rumi wants her off the drugs and promises she will leave Mira alone if she gets sober.
Little does Mira know, Rumi is real. She is actually part demon and can teleport. Rumi can't convince Mira she is a real person, but that works in her favor when Mira has become a disaster due to her addiction. Because Mira can't push her away. Rumi might be the only person alive who can help Mira, even if it means she will always only be an imaginary friend.

Summary
Facts Zoey knew about Rumi:
1. She had the most beautiful voice Zoey had ever heard. Like, inhumanly beautiful.
2. She had knee length (magical?) purple hair
3. No one knew who (what?) her father was.
4. She refused to visit the bathhouse, the pool, the beach, or any body of water with them.
5. Her favorite snack was shrimp crackers.Zoe chewed on her pen, eyebrows furrowed. She hadn't wanted to believe that she could have missed this, or that one of her closest friends could have lied to her for so long, but with everything written down and laid out like this, the evidence was irrefutable:
Rumi was a mermaid.
_______or: Zoey adds 2 and 2 together and gets Magicians.

Summary
Rumi’s voice still fails. Rarely, but it happens nonetheless, and the others notice.
This time, she’s not lying about who she is. Everyone sees her authentic self. Guilt and shame gnaw at her all the same as she refuses to talk about something that is such a core part of her life. Somehow, it’s harder to talk when she has to make the choice on her own.
She needs to trust her friends and find the courage to come out as trans. Easier said than done.
