It is impossibly loud and impossibly quiet, both at once. There is that familiar unease, of feeling monumental things, and being unable to sort them into proper boxes. Reki pauses. The silk fall of Langa’s hair slips through his fingers like water.
He lets out a shaky sigh. Wow. This is just great. His heart is doing a whole circus act. There are flips and aerials and cartwheels. The whole shebang. But what the hell, this—this is no good. Reki is losing his mind. Langa has to be doing this on purpose.
Say it again, Reki thinks despite himself, want barreling through him with dizzying violence. Say it again, and again, and again.
(In which Reki’s love language is touch, and Langa’s is praise, and it goes just as well as you think it would.)
