"Acting Grand Master," Lawrence says, "we have another noise complaint."
Kaeya leans against the doorway, watching as Lawrence places at report atop Jean's desk. Sighing, Jean tiredly rubs at her brow, before offering a curt nod.
"Thank you," she says. "I will deal with the complaint shortly."
Pushing off the doorway, Kaeya saunters past Lawrence, picking the report up, and casually flipping through it. Jean shoots him a stern look, but does not tell him to put it back down.
"It's from one of the sisters," Kaeya observes, and reads aloud. "Perpetrator scaled statue outside church while drunk and sang loudly for three hours."
Lawrence lets out a delicate cough.
As Weinlesefest draws near, Kaeya notices a new mystery in the city of wind and wine — Jean and Diluc have been oddly permissive with Venti since the Stormterror Incident. Mischievously determined to get to the bottom of this, Kaeya soon makes a discovery that threatens to upend everything he knows. In the process, he must reconcile what it means to be Khaenri'ahn, and to love a city that belongs to a god.

He stares at the sink again, then back at Venti, who just blinks, seeming quite bemused.
“How is wine-cursing a thing you can do now?!” Diluc demands.
“Hey,” Venti says, mock-crossly. “I cultivated the God of Wine title very diligently, I'll have you know that. Unfortunately, it never gave me any useful abilities— like the power to turn water to wine! Wouldn't that have been amazing? But no, that never manifested.”
Barbatos is the God of Wind and Freedom, but also of Wine and Song. He thus has a sliding scale of wine-curses from "I lay a plague upon your house" and "may all the wine you drink be ever-so-slightly over-oxidized." He absolutely uses his wine-cursing abilities on drunk assholes at the bar.

With no clue how to return back to Teyvat, the immortal can only continue on with the days and face the adversities of the mundane life of a mortal, at least until he can find a path to return back to his eternal duties.
It can take decades, centuries, millennials, but even if Xiao has to face eternity, he will find a way back.
The only end to his path is death.

They’re just six years old when Naruto Uzumaki jumps up in front of the class, glares at all of them in turn, and passionately proclaims that he’s going to be the Hokage one day.
The entire class just laughs at him. Shikamaru doesn't join in. He's confused. Why does Naruto act like that? Like someone so desperate to be noticed that he’ll take anything - even anger, contempt, annoyance at best? It’s a puzzle with a missing piece - a problem that he needs to solve before he can sleep through another class.
That puzzle ends up taking a lot longer to solve than he anticipated.
