Summary
They’ve danced around each other, full of love and admiration that Akito’s pride and Toya’s fearfulness silenced for years. But now that they’re older, entered university and seen more of the world, Toya feels he’s old enough to ask Akito the long-standing question: do we make this thing between us…permanent?
Toya looks up to the night sky, the stars and the moon that have been his friends since— since then, for courage before he makes his confession.
But his eyes instead widened in horror. He immediately lets go of Akito’s hand and, ignoring Akito’s worried questions, bolts as fast as he can towards the darkness ahead of him.
As far away from anyone, from Akito, as possible. Because the moon he sees is full, round and too-bright and warning Toya that his time is up.
