“I mean, yeah,” Sungho shrugs, still amused by the comicality of the situation. “Though, I never even said that I had a car."

Because even if seeing Jaehyun with someone else made his body nauseous, even if every fibre of his being screamed at him to look away, to stop this. He would never stop looking at Jaehyun being happy. And if his happiness was with another person, then Sungho would swallow the bile rising in his throat and pretend everything was okay. Sungho looked up from his phone, brow lifting slightly in amusement. For a brief second, Jaehyun thought he might’ve made a complete fool of himself. But then Sungho smiled—slow, warm, a little amused. The kind of smile that said yeah, I remember you, and you’re still kind of ridiculous.
“Yeah,” Sungho replied, slipping his phone into his pocket. “Maybe I am. Still trying to, anyway.”
Jaehyun laughed awkwardly. “Right. Carpe diem and all that.”
