He looks around the room, chasing the right words as afterimages of Lucerys as he remembers him appear at the corners of Aemond’s eye. Only when he focuses on them, they disappear, mist in the wind. Just shadows of this godsforsaken, accursed castle.
Then Aemond stills, tired of searching, and settles for the cruel word on the tip of his tongue. “He wasn’t such a whore.”
