Summary
The start was closer to a mosaic than a tapestry, full of glassy speckles of greys and golds. She admired each burst of colour as her gaze combed along the fabric to the first clear image. The scene was enwreathed in storm clouds, erratic and pained. They circled around the two focus’s of the spectacle—A woman, slick with ichor, climbing out of a man’s skull—
Oh. That was her.
Or:
Athena has survived a lot. Her fathers head for one, his lightning too—But rejection from a single mortal proves to be her undoing. How pathetic an end for a goddess like her.
Or it would be, if the fates hadn't decided to throw her a bone.

You ever read a fanfic so good you write a fanfic of it?!
Well that's kinda what's going on here. Between reading the brilliant mer-acle 's fic Fighting to Be Loved and all her other amazing fics about Athena I decided to write a little scene where Triton finds out about Zeus striking Athena with the lightning bolt.
Triton, son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, was Athena's foster father. She was sent to Lake Tritonis and Triton's household. But Zeus caused an accident causing Triton's daughter Pallas to be accidentally killed by Athena and then she was kicked out and sent back to Mount Olympus.

“Athena,” he says, face creasing in confusion. “I thought-did we agree- I thought we were going to wait until he’s two months before resuming training, I know it’s not ideal but I can’t-”
“Odysseus,” she interrupts. An unusual feeling creeps over her; her stomach tightens, her cheeks warm. She feels the sudden urge to tug at her chiton.
Is Athena, the goddess of wisdom, embarrassed? At a simple house visit?
Not a chance, she tells herself.
“Odysseus,” she repeats, stronger this time. “At ease. I’m not here to train you or anything. I just came to deliver this.” She holds out the blanket, bound by a golden ribbon to keep its shape.

“You are often much better at deception than this.”
He flushed. “I don’t… I’m not-“
“Odysseus.” She commanded.
He flinched and she softened. Hands going back to his hair brushing it back to not cover his face, she took note of how he leaned into the touch.
“My dad is getting worse.”

Summary
Athena's been hurt, much more thoroughly than she realized was possible. For the first time in her immortal life, she is fighting against her own body and mind, and she doesn't know how to win.
Odysseus is home. After two more weeks on sea, a fight with 108 suitors and reunited with his family, he’s quietly accepted that even a desperate prayer won’t bring his former mentor to come back. Little does he know, for two weeks, it’s all Athena’s been trying to do.
Or, what if after God Games, Athena doesn’t wake up in the infirmary? What if it’s up to a few mortals to take care of the goddess that just collapsed in their palace, looking like she should very much be dead?
Updates on Sundays :)

Also sometimes it takes me a bit to respond to comments especially on earlier chapters bc as you can tell the amount of comments this fic gets is out of this world, but eventually I will reply, I appreciate them very muchSeries

The arena was deserted apart from her and Zeus. The God King stood above her but when she attempted to lift herself up and a small whimper escaped her throat, he bowed down to lift up her chin and look her in the eyes.
“Have you understood who is King of Olympus, Athena?”
“Yes, father,” she managed through agonized tears.
“Have you learned not to put shame on me in my own home?”
“Yes, father.”
Zeus nodded.
“Alright then. Tell your mortal he can go.”

Summary
“I…” She exhaled slowly, vainly trying to keep her words even. “I dreamed that you were here,” she admitted, smiling, though her voice broke and her tears left burning trails down her cheeks.
He looked at her in confusion, then frowned, and his hands — so real, though she knew they were not, she willingly embraced the lie — found her face. His thumbs wiped at her tears.
“I am here,” her delusion told her, and oh she wanted to believe it, needed to, no matter that the harsh truth had been proven to her again and again and again. “You are not dreaming, Penelope, I swear it.”
In spite of her flowing tears, her smile only grew, and she leaned into his imagined touch to pretend as long as she could.
“You always do,” she whispered. And she always believed him, in the end, let hope and love restore her heart, to make it truly beat again. Only to wake alone. -

Summary
Zeus did not strike Athena down in a fit of rage. No. He had been king for eons - he did not act with such wanton disregard. He wanted her to know the full cost of defiance. He would not be overthrown. He would have obedience.
That is why he made sure every god knew that if any of them attempted to help her, he would reinjure Athena and grant the offender the same punishment.
That is why he waited for Athena to wake before telling her, in no uncertain terms, that if she ever told any mortal of the events that transpired that night, he would strike them down without mercy.Athena quickly realizes what this meant: she would put her entire family at risk by being near them. And if she attempted to make a much-needed apology to Odyssues, he would surely pry the truth out of her, and his death may as well have been at her hands. (She cannot kill another friend.)

Summary
Odysseus is home. Athena’s wounds have, for the most part, healed. The suitors are no longer terrorizing Penelope and Telemachus. It should be a happy ending, yet the aftereffects of twenty years of trauma are slow to go away.
Chapter 1: Odysseus has been traumatized by war, and now his son is training with a war goddess. Athena has been traumatized by her king-father, and now Telemachus has his king-father back. Telemachus, tired of his father and his best friend to trying to protect him from each other, just wants them to work out their issues.
Chapter 2: Athena and Penelope are both ignoring their own issues and pushing themselves too hard trying to take care of the people they love. After Athena reveals what happened during God Games, they find this out about each other.
Chapter 3: Odysseus is furious at Zeus. Telemachus doesn't disagree with his father's reasoning, but Odysseus's rage still scares him. Both of them want to make sure Athena doesn't get hurt again—but neither of them know how.
Can be read as a follow-up to my series Aftershocks, or on its own.

Summary
“What do you want?” Odysseus did not even try to hide the quiver in his voice. But Telemachus knew that his father was not only frightened but also furious, and his fury passed on to his son. Why would the gods not leave their family alone? Had all the years of hardship and suffering, all the tears his mother had shed, the blood his father had spilled, not been enough to deserve even a moment of peace?
But the gods do not know peace. And they certainly do not know how to forgive.

Summary
Odysseus used to ridicule the story od Oedipus, for how could one have both healthy eyes and not recognise their own father? How could one look upon the features of their own blood and remain blind to them?
Oedipus must have been dim-witted, he had decided.
Odysseus knew not why in this instance, surrounded by carcasses of one hundred and nine men, was he remembering such a ridiculous tale.

Summary
Odysseus stood in front of him, bow steady in his blood-soaked fingers, arrow notched and aimed between Telemachus’ eyes. Telemachus had spent years studying the man before him, comparing the two of them. He’d lost count of the number of times people in the palace had told him that he looked just like his father had at his age.
Now he wondered if he would grow into Odysseus’ rage, if his own eyes would harden the way his father’s had, if he’d grow to enjoy the taste of blood if he only lived another twenty-five years.

Telemachus looked at Odysseus and saw a vision of his future.

"Rumi!"
Rumi startled awake with a gasp, her eyes flying open. A sharp pain bloomed from her side and she moaned.
"Rumi, calm down," said a familiar voice. "You stay to calm, or they'll find us."
Rumi's blurred vision started sharpening, bringing colors and shapes back into focus. She looked around wildly, and felt a gasp catch in the back of her throat when she saw who was kneeling down beside her, slightly leaning over her.
"Jinu?" she managed to choke out.
Jinu shushed her sharply, placing a finger over his lips.
