Aoife’s head lolled back, and Gale snuck a few pecks to her cheek and neck. Aoife carded her fingers through his hair, reveling in its softness, until he made a small sound of contentment.
“This is the most relaxed I’ve been in months,” Aoife muttered.
“I’d agree with that, but I could be having a panic attack right now and the statement would still be true,” Gale quipped.
“Then we should do something about that. Relax harder, maybe.”
“And how do we go about putting more effort into relaxing, my dear?” he replied, his tone caught between amusement and innuendo.
“Oh, I’m sure I’ll think of something.”

“I don’t like the idea of you seeing me hurt anymore,” Aoife stated, rising and grabbing the remaining teacups, heading for the kitchen. “But I like the thought of doing this alone less. I think I need an impartial observer. A witness.”
“My love,” he said gently, “If that is what you need, then I will be it. But do you truly believe this is the way forward? We could always try to find a better way.” Aoife shook her head.

“You still haven’t answered my question,” Gale pointed out and gestured to her outfit.
“Oh, it’s Grill Dads vs Yoga Moms Day,” Tav said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“Is this some kind of inside joke between you and Astarion?”
“What? No. It’s spirit week. Why aren’t you dressed up?” She asked, pointing to his window pane trousers, purple button down, and tie. Gale stared at her blankly trying to comprehend what she just said. “Do you not have spirit weeks in England?”
“What’s a spirit week?” Gale asked exasperated, wondering if they spoke the same language at all.
Modern-AU setting where most of the main characters teach at the same run down high school where Halsin is the principal. Gale is a down on his luck academic, forced to take a position at an American high school, and Astarion is the snarky theatre teacher (because of course he is) who can't stop sleeping with the principal (because of course he can't).
Main pairings are Gale/ Tav and Halsin/Astarion.
