Summary
As far as he’s concerned, Kim Dokja is someone who, if put on trial for the long-term torture of one Yoo Joonghyuk, would only be convicted of being a fool. And he can live with that. As long as Kim Dokja remains ignorant, and lets him exist in his orbit, it’ll be enough to tide him over. It has to be, but the stasis of this love is something which Joonghyuk has only very recently come to terms with.
That’s when it happens—the bombshell that destroys the condition that has kept him in utter devoted misery for years.
“Han Sooyoung and Yoo Sangah are getting married?”
Cohabiting with your high school classmate is horrible. Pining for him like a lovelorn maiden is even worse. But the worst part of the situation, as far as Joonghyuk’s sanity is concerned, is that Kim Dokja doesn’t have a clue, even after thirteen years of not-so-subtle courting.

Instead, Sooyoung sighs, crossing her arms like it’ll keep all of that mess contained within.

Slowly, Yoo Joonghyuk drags his eyes back up to his face. It's like Kim Dokja is doing it on purpose.
Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja can’t decide whether to fight or face what's between them. Yet out of the two of them, Yoo Joonghyuk definitely has it worse.
