Summary
That is a less pressing concern than the still-visible pink in his nose. Legato beckons for Knives to turn to face him, and, when Knives does as indicated, unzips his sweatshirt. He drapes it over the back of the table by the door with the intention of laundering it later. In this moment, he waits for Knives to remove his boots, then closes the small distance between them to pick him up.
“Ah,” Knives intones—a bit of an underreaction, actually. He’s not the most easily startled. His eyes are slightly wide, though, and his hand has fallen to Legato’s shoulder for stability, not that Legato would ever drop him. “Where are we going?”
“The bathroom,” Legato says, omitting that he thought that would be obvious. “You need to be under hot water before you catch cold.”
“You were under the rain just as long as I was, Legato,” Knives huffs, though he doesn’t wriggle or anything, instead pressing his lower back into Legato’s arm and jutting his lip out like a child. “If anything, we should both be taking a bath.”

Legato and Knives get home on a wet day, and take a bath together to stay warm.

“Oh? Then tell me what you did last weekend,” Vash said, tossing him a look.
“I had to go to the office,” Nai stated.
“And the weekend before that?”
“There was a paper I needed to do.” Nai scowled at Vash’s knowing look. “I don’t see your point.”
