The past exists regardless of its presence in drafts. The present faces challenges not prescribed in the script. The future... well. someone must create it. And it is advisable not to fuck-up - after all, this world is now not letters on the screen, but the reality around.

Upon learning that Knuckles is actually a good guy trying to collect all seven Chaos Emeralds to end Dr. Eggman's tyranny and retrieve the Master Emerald he stole from Mobius, Sonic joins him and his partner Tails on their journey where they will meet new allies and friends but also more enemies and dangers.
