Summary
After the war, when Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, defeated Voldemort Draco Malfoy finds out that for seven years he has repressed his feelings for the boy he hated, for the boy he considered his enemy.
Draco has always hated his choices, specifically his choice to become a death eater to please his father. He is now stuck with a dark mark that he has always hated but even more so now. He knows that Harry will never love him if he is a death eater; not if he has the dark mark.
Draco Malfoy starts to change, for the better. He finally is ripping himself away from the version of himself his father wanted him to be. He finally apologises to Hermione, and breaks away from the internalised homophobia he had to carry with him for years because of his father’s homophobic beliefs. He stops being a bully, a jerk. He starts being someone he wants to be.
But to do so he has to go through hell and back, he believes that to have a chance with Harry he has to remove his dark mark. He becomes friends with Hermione, and eventually confesses to Harry and Harry confesses back.
