Bea nods. “Ever since Alex’s first bi-annual vampire orgy.” Her gaze flickers away from her cards and over to the camera. “Henry got flustered and snubbed him, you see.”
“If anyone knows how to hold onto a grudge, it’s Alex,” June sighs.
“They hardly spoke for the next two centuries.” Bea plays a card. “Then Pez suggested a change of scenery, and we all moved to Brooklyn.”
“Now they’re just Like This.”

Edwin's voice comes to him like a whisper on the breeze.
“Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.”He cries then, clinging to the branches of the tree outside Edwin's window, for their lost future, for everything that wasn't and would never be. When his tears finally run dry, he climbs down the tree and strips by the pond.
“You can't just use our pond whenever the fancy takes you,” Edwin says primly, playful indignation in his tone.
“Can't I?” Charles says, and dives in. The water is freezing, a chilling embrace.

Crystal enters with another girl in tow, a tall slim frame, lots of long dark wavy hair, and— okay, Charles knows it's rude to ogle, her eyes are up there, he knows he shouldn't stare.
But this girl's wearing a thin jumper that looks to be at least a size too small— the hem barely meets the top of her skirt— and no bra, and the view is spectacular.
And that's just the finishing touch on an overall gorgeous body: long legs, narrow waist, shapely arms with a nice bit of definition to the biceps, long graceful neck and a pretty face, all dark lashes and full pink lips, with a cute little beauty mark dotting the chin.

"Edwin?" Charles gapes, and Edwin's hands clutch at the folds of his skirt.
