When you are a child, your life is measured in seasons. The school, the break, the running for your life. Then, the summer. Enough days slipping through for you to recover your head. Enough weeks for you to miss it. Just enough hours to waste to make you anxious for studies again, make you forget the stress of it. The summer slips through you slow as syrup, sweet as honey. And then you return to the seasons, the breaks, the running for your life. Luckily, you kill the monster at the end of the story.
Then there is a final summer.
Before you are an adult and don't measure your life by seasons anymore. There is no break.
The future will come. Even if you turn your back and run for your life, you cannot outrun Your Life.
You can only look into its pitch black eyes and hope it lets you move forward.

She intends to change a single moment in time - and change the life of her godfather, herself, and the whole of Magical Britain. That the price for that change is all that she is, including her life? There's always a price.
Merlin showing up and telling her that the price of her actions isn't her death? Not part of her calculations. Changing the past is surprisingly easy. Living it might just be harder.
