"You have not followed me here to talk about John", Sherlock declared with conviction.
Mycroft pulled himself up to sit even straighter and gave his brother a haughty and inscrutable look. "No, I have not."
Sherlock sprawled next to him, his pyjama-clad legs crossed at the ankles, and looked over at him sceptically. "And I already told you that I will not be taking the case that you want to offer me."
The older Holmes sighed. "So you did, but this is about something else."
There was a moment of consideration before the other man's face cleared instantly, a spark of intrigue glowing brightly in his eyes. "Moriarty."

Sherlock and John have become an unbeatable detective team and fast friends. But there is a new threat on the horizon, a series of bombings in places where it would hurt their city the most. And the criminal responsible seems to have a frightening amount of control over the brain implants of everyone within his vast reach. The game is on but the playing field is rigged.
A science-fiction-y take mostly playing with TGG all within a London of the future full of augmented reality, illusions and explosives. Steering towards some eventual canon-divergence.

Summary
John's gaze wandered skyward instinctually, where the concrete walls, metal beams and wide light panels that covered the rest of the city were interrupted by an enormous transparent dome. Not all cities had such a window to the outside. Most of the less prosperous towns all across the country, as well as all places located further underground, had to make do with artificial light, cheap weather simulations on big LED panels and VR sceneries.
But this was the real deal. Filtered through decades-old layers of dust and grime but still very clearly the actual sun. This was as good as things would get for John Watson, at least for the foreseeable future. And he would have to learn to live with that.

After the surface of the earth has grown uninhabitable, life has shifted underground. Away from sunlight and fresh air, humanity has improved on itself with the help of body modifications, growing stronger and more connected. Returning home after many years of military service on the surface John stumbles across Sherlock, who can show him a whole new side of this London below ground.
A retelling of ASiP within a futuristic & dystopian universe and the beginning of a longer series to come.
