“Ah, no, there’s no one waiting for me, I’m afraid. And I’m not much interested in the local women,” Bartosch said, weighing his words carefully. “I much prefer having drinks with interesting men such as you.”
Capon blinked in surprise, and in the beat of silence that followed his declaration, Bartosch wondered if perhaps he had been too forward. Then Capon smiled—a brief, fleeting thing.

The sunlight is warm and comforting on his face. A gentle breeze whispers past, caressing his skin, ruffling his hair just slightly and carrying with it the sharp scent of the ocean. Jeremy runs a hand through the sand, marvelling at the way the grains tickle against the skin of his fingers, and he waits.
It isn’t long before he feels someone appear next to him, like they are simply not there one moment and then there the next. A greeting is on his lips, one that barely manages to form before the Squip leans into his field of view, a slight smirk brightening the otherwise blank slate of their expression.
“Hello again, Jeremy.”
