Tony blinks, caught off guard. “Uh… excuse me?”
Pepper turns to face him fully, her voice firm but full of affection. “You have no idea how good you are at this. You may not even realize it, but you’ve been teaching Peter things—things dads teach their kids. It’s in the way you look after him, the way you push him to be better, but also the way you make sure he knows you’re always there for him.”
Tony opens his mouth to protest, but Pepper holds up a hand, stopping him.
“God, you two are so alike at times I don't know if I should be worried,” she muses.
…
After May dies, Tony becomes Peter’s legal guardian. He teaches him the basic life skills his late family never had enough time to. Without realizing it.

this has been one of my favorite irondad spideyson fics ever. because its just the right amount of angsty where it doesn’t make me have a conniption, peter is so so so incredibly fun and sweet and interesting, tony is amazing and his growth is so fucking good. and the ensemble cast just works. nat with her many tests and missing persons wall. happy and the Hawaiian shirts, same and his sneakers and pepper and her checklists and frogs. and bruce. god i loved bruce with his grasshopers and teaching peter and non-angry angry moments. every character felt real and the story made sense. i just truly loved it. gave me writer’s envy.

There were only four medical specialists named Dr. Cho currently working in New York. One was the Geneticist working for The Avengers, one worked with infants and babies, one was a veterinarian, and one was a Pediatric oncologist.
Peter wouldn’t be going to see an Avengers-level Geneticist. He definitely wouldn’t be going to see a baby or animal doctor, so that left the Pediatric Oncologist.
The cancer doctor.
Or, Somehow, while trying to keep both his internship and Spider-Man a secret, Peter has managed to convince his whole school that he is dying of cancer.
Or, Peter Parker is weird, and the other students think they’ve figured out why.
They haven’t.
