The last thing Steve expects when he finally tracks Bucky down is that, not only has the man been living in Queens all this time, right under his nose, but also that, in the two years since they last saw each other, Bucky somehow acquired a kid.
Alternatively: How Peter Parker effectively fucks over Bucky Barnes, and also totally saves him.

This is the team's first glimpse into their future living together as a ragtag group of former assassins and washed-up loners, and while their histories and personalities make for an oddly unique family dynamic, they grow to realize just how important they are becoming in each others' lives. But, with the torment of their past traumas and the terrifying first experience with the Void still fresh on everyone's minds, settling into their role as heroes and teammates does not come easily. They know no sleep without nightmares, no safety without isolation or violence, and no peace of mind with the guilt they each bear. Around each other, however, the emptiness they all know so well begins to feel a little lighter.

the young avengers can only watch and sigh as they manage to deal with threats more effectively than two entire teams of properly-funded, fully adult avengers. maybe the world really, really needs the young avengers. like, desperately. please, the avengers(squared) are going to kill eachother before doing literally anything of help.

He, however, was wearing nothing but a t-shirt and shorts, feet bare and dangling over the edge. Staring out over the abyss. It made something twist in the pit of her stomach.
