Not like this at least, with harsh, freezing drops of water pelting down from a dark, clouded sky that hurt Kaeya's skin and soak through his clothes. And definitely not rain accompanied by brilliant flashes of light, and crashes of startling sound that seem to shake the very earth. No, nothing like that.
But it did rain fire in Khaenri'ah once.

Before he can do or say or even think anything else, the door suddenly gives way behind him and he falls onto the floor with a thud and a small yelp. He's greeted with Klee looming over him, albeit upside down in his vision, a question directed at him through her groggy eyes.

He brushes the soft feathers of her chest with his forefinger, spotting two rolled up notes attached to each of her feet– he knows the one with the sloppy doodle of himself is the one for him. His horse sniffs Talonflame intently as her opens the note–

Kaeya mumbles out, and Diluc quickly schools his expression.
"I'm not sad."
"Don't gaslight me jus.. cause 'm drunk."
"You're not drunk."
Kaeya's eye widens and his mouth drops a little, Diluc's hand flies beneath his chin, ready and waiting just in case the gauze slips out.
"I'm not?"
"No, but you're close enough."
(Or, the "Kaeya is drunk and Diluc has to make sure he gets home safely and ends up taking care of him and it leads to healing and reconciliation" fic, but with a modern twist.)

He calls out all sing songy, all sugary and lovesick. Receiving no response to his voice, Satoru pushes the door open, flicking the light on.
