When the Grand Master of Knights of Favonius wants to take Kaeya from her brother's unit and have him work with Inspector Eroch's team to capture the Ursa the Drake, a draconic creature from a thousand-year-old legend, Kaeya can't refuse this opportunity. Because the eye has already foreseen the future, and destiny is etched in stone. Afterall gods are merely observers, and humans are the ultimate actors in this grand stage of Celestia. Trying is human nature, but the script cannot be changed, no one can improvise, no one can escape the stage. Not even sinners.

It doesn't rain in Khaenri'ah.
Not like this at least, with harsh, freezing drops of water pelting down from a dark, clouded sky that hurt Kaeya's skin and soak through his clothes. And definitely not rain accompanied by brilliant flashes of light, and crashes of startling sound that seem to shake the very earth. No, nothing like that.
But it did rain fire in Khaenri'ah once.
(Or, a Kaeya character study loosely centered around his interactions and experience with fire and flames of various types.)

"I understood that i was mistaken the moment you turned against your own - you against them, next to me. Back to back, equal and close, just as it was always supposed to be. Then, and only then, i finally saw the world clearly."
