Dazai’s mind is a restless storm, pulling him under with thoughts he can’t escape. It’s one of those days, where silence is suffocating, and no distraction is enough. He knows what he needs. He even knows who he needs. But asking for help? That’s always been the hardest part.
So, of course, after endless hesitation and overthinking… when he finally works up the nerve - not really, let’s be honest - he accidentally calls Chuuya.
But Chuuya doesn’t need an explanation. He just shows up. And with him, he brings a solution that’s both simple and devastatingly effective.
Tonight, Dazai won’t have to think. Won’t have to plan, manipulate, or even make a single decision. All he has to do is listen, obey, and sink into the hands of the one person who knows exactly how to unravel him.

Summary
He’d say God made a mistake, putting someone like Chuuya in the world—someone so far beyond everyone else that the word beautiful is no longer applicable to anyone but him. It’s like Chuuya exists to make the rest of the world look unfinished—half-formed and poorly made by comparison.
Some days, Dazai’s convinced Chuuya’s beauty is some sort of cosmic punishment for something he did in a past life. How cruel he must have been to deserve this—to see something so perfect and know it will always be out of his reach. To know that anyone else he finds will just be second best. It makes Dazai feel like he’s been let in on some divine secret, only to be told he can never have it.
All this to say, Dazai is left absolutely dumbfounded when Chuuya turns to him, early morning light seeping through the bedroom curtains and bathing his face in golden hues, and asks, "Do you think I'm ugly?"

Summary
There’s lots of things Dazai didn’t believe in.
Ghosts, for one. Surely if they existed, he’d be one of the most haunted people on the planet. Aliens. It wasn’t so much that he didn’t think they could exist, probably not in the way humans thought they did — he just didn’t really care enough.
On the flip side, there were other things he did believe in when it came down to it. Simple truths.
In any case, Dazai woke up that morning to an unremarkable world. At 24 seconds into 11:03pm, he had the inexplicable, unexplainable and infuriating feeling that Chuuya had done something incredibly stupid.
Or
Chuuya gets sick without explanation. It digs up some old memories.

Summary
After the absolute shit storm that has become of Yokohama, being sent around Europe to negotiate with allies is almost a relief for Chuuya. All he wants is to do his job without some asshole showing up and trying to destroy the world. To do his job without his shitty ex-partner-turned-detective screwing with him, and without his adopted aunt and boss breathing down his neck. In fact, if everything could just go back to the way it was, that would be great.
But making sure the different mafias don't start wars among each other is the least of Chuuya's worries. Something else is coming. Something dangerous. Something that draws him back to Yokohama and even deeper into his past.
Things are about to get a lot more complicated, whether Chuuya likes it or not.
