He didn't really mean to say it. It slipped out all by itself. Wriggled it's way up from Dazai's heart to his throat where it stayed, heavy, for days, till his traitorous body had enough.
"Like, in sex?" Chuuya asked like the stupid brute he was. Well. Dazai couldn't blame him for this one. He didn't mean to say the words but turns out making out with a chibi did that to a man. His slugs stupidity was probably contagious via saliva, he reasoned.

Chuuya had never forgotten how beautiful Dazai could be. But it still hits him like a truck, right then and there, to realise that he is holding him in his arms. They've fucked before, but they've never made love. An itch in his brain he never realised he even possessed is satisfied, and Chuuya thinks he could rest for a thousand years.
He smiles. "I would have gone with you, back then. I know it wasn't the point. I know you didn't think about me when you did, and I'm not mad about it. But, I want you to know that I would've come with you to the ends of the world."

Or, four years after, everything that's changed, and everything that hasn't: because no matter how long they are separated, Dazai Osamu and Chuuya Nakahara will always be drawn to each-other like gravity.

”I’ll make you bleed,” he says, although it comes out half-hearted as well as weird and distorted with the tissue blocking his nose. Dazai just smiles at him beatifically.
