Vecna was god-knows-where, the town was in ruins, nearly everyone had evacuated, Max was in a coma, the rest of the kids were damn near traumatized, and Eddie Munson was dead. They had lost. And, as if life couldn't get any shittier, Steve was going to die at the hands of some monster that had him pressed against the wall with its teeth sunk into his neck. Just his luck.
