The people Sam loves keep leaving him. He gets a little wreckless.
Canon-compliant (I think) backstory set during of Tron Legacy/ Missing scene beginning after Flynn's disappearance and ending after the ENCOM heist. Title tweaked (removed a word) once i realized it was almost exactly what Flynn said to Sam in his final scene.

Summary
When the world was ending he had a purpose but now a year and a half later what fucking good was he. Offensive magic was only useful when there was something to fight and a voice of the dreaming was only important when the people knew how to talk to him. Kingston’s magic was useful, it helped people. What could he even do, save for blasting a city block apart?
