After a very long day at work, Andra Kanashimi is about ready to drop. She's exhausted, she worked two hours past when she needed to stop, she has a kid at home, and she's overall just not feeling it. She would probably kill herself if it weren't for the kid. But on her way home from work, she notices some random kid who doesn't seem to be in good shape. Curse the kindness of her heart, for she takes even longer getting home to save her coworker from a five year-old boy so she can keep a random teenager from starving and freezing and bleeding to death.
that title is complete bullshit i was trying my hardest to think of something nice and poetic without accidentally making it look like a romantic story. it is not. do not misinterpret my intentions here. it is 1am i need to sleep bro 💔

Rainia Fushihara, the physician for the Cynthian branch of the worldwide organization Detectives of Terria, gets news that her little sister, Agatha Fushihara , has been drafted into the Cynthian military and is being sent to war in the Monarchian subcontinent due to tensions rising between the Cynthius and the Southern Isles, the country colonizing the subcontinent. As a result, Raine takes an offer to become an assassin in the hopes that she’ll be able to find the people who started the war and kill them.
Please excuse the random brainrot, they are meant to be curses but I'm writing this on a school chromebook and I don't feel like getting in trouble,, i'll fix it later trust

Summary
Things are tough after the battle at Mount Othrys. It's especially difficult since the old praetor is dead and has been replaced by Jason Grace.
Jason never wanted to be praetor. Especially not now. He doesn't know how to handle what happened. He watched his first friend in the legion die. It feels like it was his fault.
Reyna doesn't know what to do. She feels like the world just collapsed. Her former colleague is dead and she couldn't do anything about it. It feels like the spear was in her chest all along.
Neither of them know how to juggle their grief along with the responsibilities of being praetor.

awkward silence fell between them. leo straighetend his back at the same time he closed the computer, making jason grimace. he had ruined movie night. the same feeling of dread, of doom, hanged between them like a bomb threatening to drop. he knew leo was thinking the same thing he had been repeating himself the past weeks: please, not again.
when jason starts to experience dissociative amnesia more noticeably than ever before, panic overtakes him, fearing a repeat of the past. he has his boyfriend and best friend to help this time, but the reality of what he's about to find out may be more stressful than he imagined. or an account of jason coming to terms with his DID.

RAAAAAA I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH???????? jason being a system is something that's been in my head for a while (aka two days at best) and i am SO happy someone wrote a fic about the concept!!!!!!!! A MILLION THANK YOUS TO THE AUTHOR AND THE PERSON WHO GAVE ME THE LINK ON TUMBLR. now i am not a system so i can't relate to ANYTHING jason deals with in this but GOD THIS IS AMAZING. if this stops getting updated I AM GOING TO REMOVE SOUTH CAROLINA.
