The doctor, the damn-near-deacon, the professional, the good man, the one the town trusted to hold their bodies in his hands, kneeling on his own bedroom floor with his face pressed against the stomach of a preacher's son, his preacher's son, and the image was grotesque and it was holy and Dennis couldn't tell the difference anymore.
