Summary
Avid reader Aventurine wakes up as a noble in his favourite novel, 'Trailblazing Romance' which should've been a dream come true—until he realises he's inhabiting a body with a mysterious illness whose of no one else but the nameless spouse of Veritas Ratio—the villain he always loathed and who the spouse is destined to be executed alongside.
Determined to (literally) keep his head on his shoulders, Aventurine does everything in his power to avoid the execution that ended the original timeline.
But while doing so, he learns that Veritas Ratio isn’t exactly the villain and that the heroine perspective might not have been exactly correct.
He had to admit, even though Trailblazing Romance was mostly shitty and had huge plot holes, it had one thing going for it—the way the heroine and the prince fit together perfectly.
Their loyalty, the build up from strangers to friends to then romantic partners—all of that had been unfairly adorable to read. And Aventurine may or may not have giggled a few times while reading those parts, but nobody had to know that.

Aventurine leaned his elbows on the table surface and folded his hands in front of him. From beneath his pink-lensed sunglasses violet eyes gleamed slyly, as an insincere smile tugged at his lips. Veritas went stiff. He had already accepted Topaz's examining look as a given. Aventurine’s gaze was on a whole other level. Penetrating. Shrewd. Not in a hundred years that fake little smirk would fool Ratio into trusting him. From the moment he saw him, he knew.
Aventurine was dangerous.
Madam Jade, one of the Ten Stonehearts, is found murdered in her own mansion. To avert an impending crisis, the police enlist the help of a brilliant forensic scientist and profiler, Veritas Ratio. In turn, a devious young man with an entrancing smile participates in the investigation from the injured party.

If his eyes could glow, he'd most certainly sell them. Anyone would be a fool not to.
When his information and photo is put onto a black market website with a hefty sum for his head, it is Aventurine himself who takes on the task of infiltrating the market with the intent to either raze it to the ground, or turn it into something profitable for the IPC. Truly, the only entertaining element is that it is Veritas Ratio who must follow him through a swarm of hunters waiting to sink their claws deep into his throat.
