No, he was not doing alright, and Robert knew that. He was the one who’d made sure of it ahead of time, pulling Waterboy aside before his shift to lay out his plans plain and simple, and giving a slow, indulgent sweep of his eyes over Waterboy’s neoprene-clad body, heavy with meaning and dark with anticipation.
He’d known far ahead of time that Waterboy would suffer.
