Even now, days later, she hears the buzzing. The frequency of the hive. When Zosia was joined, her head was full to the brim. It was a feeling larger than self, it couldn’t be described really. Now, she’s empty and the empty space in her head would vibrate, as if calling out for mercy. Calling for rescue from the hive. And Zosia would try to push the sound away.
