Calling him by his name, his first name, so absorbed in his arrogance that he’d not noticed nor cared that not even his close friends called him by it.
Yoichi. The best in the world, that’s one way to put it, and he couldn’t have been blamed for not knowing, not understanding what he was speaking into existence every time he spoke it.
But also, the first.
And now, name whittled and weathered and worn down until it’s familiar against his tongue over the years he’s called it, the texture of it changed, it sounds different too. Just like his does against Isagi’s, eroded over time until the harsh edges softened, said like a gift.
Said like it’s his.’

Summary
To be with Eren was to see him in the early morning light with a detached expression as he stared at a blank wall. It was to hear him muttering to himself and being confused by his surroundings and himself. It was standing guard while Eren hurt himself over and over again, creating a monster around himself and pushing himself until he was puking blood.To be with Eren was to run fingers through his lengthening hair, to tease lips over the burned marks etched into his face. It was cutting off his limbs to test heal rates under all manner of situations. It was sitting through long meetings with serpent-tongued individuals and burying his desire to kill them for their ignorance.
It was to know that the smooth flawless writhing body under his scarred hands was capable of so much destruction, and that it was solely kept at bay by the young man's will power.

His father says he got it from his mother.
His mother says “nonsense, that’s from your father’s side”. She also says “whoever disagrees is a fool” and “that applies to the man I married”.
The fact that Wei Wuxian takes to people easily is one out of many his parents love arguing about – but the way his parents argue, which is nothing like other people. They do it with a suspicious lack of heat, balanced by an equally suspicious abundance of lengthy looks (his father’s) and teasing smiles (his mother’s). They rarely seem to care what the argument is about. They do seem to enjoy the arguing very much.
Wei Wuxian is thirteen, and in the newfound wisdom of his years, he finds there’s a growing number of unfortunate facts about adults, especially parents, he’d rather go back to not knowing. Although he does, as a matter of fact, agree with them he takes to people easily.
Until he comes home one late afternoon, and finds his father with a grey-eyed stranger in long black and red robes.
