Robby knows it's illogical. Walking into work and seeing Shen at the desk waiting to do a handover with him shouldn't be disappointing. He likes doing the handover with Jack. Beginning his workday with Jack is like downing an energy drink for breakfast; It keeps him going until he can clock out.
Thinking that way when he left Jack sleeping in their bed is why he knows it's illogical.

The letter arrives on a Tuesday morning. Jack is at work, so Robby is home alone when he rips open the envelope and unfolds the letter inside.
He reads it three times, like he expects to find something new. It has to be a joke, or maybe it was sent to the wrong person. But it's his full name at the top of the letter, and the headed paper looks real.

Robby receives a letter one day that cracks open a part of his past he thought had been closed forever. Jack helps him through some decisions he has to make.

Jack knows exactly how to take care of him. He cooks Robby's favourite food, re-stocks Robby's fridge because he never has the time or energy to go grocery shopping, cares about Robby's cholesterol, wants to hear about the work issues bothering him, washes his hair, and makes sure the day ends with a good orgasm.
In so many ways, large and small, Jack's presence makes his life better. He just doesn't know what Jack gets out of it all.

He's open twenty-four hours a day and only a couple of minutes' walk away, making it the perfect spot to spend a fifteen-minute break or get a hit of proper coffee.
