His flesh aches with the weight of sentience and responsibility. Maybe if he fought harder, kicked faster, bit harder, screamed louder, he would not carry the heavy cloud of wrongness that has forever made itself a home upon his bent back. He is aware that it is his fault. There is not a world where it isn’t. He is nothing if not prey.
