Summary
Wilhelm loves Noel – he really, really does. He loves seeing him happy and has only ever wanted the best for him, not only in his love life but in life in general. Nevertheless, seeing him with Simon makes Wilhelm hate him a little bit.
Simon is genuinely happy with Noel and he knows that, if he gave himself the chance to, he could properly fall in love with him. So why do all of his thoughts have to be constantly consumed by someone else? Why can’t he just be fully, totally invested in the relationship he’s in without his heart pulling him in a completely different direction?

Summary
All of this takes place after Wilhelm's birthday, however, Simon and him never actually break up. Now they both live in Simon’s small apartment, which is rented by Wilhelm’s parents. They have apologised to him, understood how unfair they were to Wilhelm and now are trying make up to him by giving him some freedom, less responsibilities.
When Wilhelm thinks that him and Simon are finally okay, Simon becomes so unbearably distant. So one day, Simon disappears, moves to a different country and Wilhelm thinks he might actually go insane.
Their paths cross once again after six years of not hearing from each other. Wilhelm finally gets an explanation to his so waited and unanswered questions.
He hopes that they can properly fix everything this time. He's finally free and can offer Simon the life that he couldn't back when they were teenagers.

"For you, I'd go get strawberries even in winter." Wille smiled serenely, feeling Simon's fingers playing with the hair on the back of his neck, whispering tenderly. Simon just smiled, bringing his face closer and pressing their lips together in a light, unhurried kiss.
