Summary
Cordelia Jackson had been warned. Ever since she had been thrust into this infernal world behind the Mist, she had heard all the stories. The stories of lawless lands and tyrannical kings, of epic wars and legendary heroes, of ruthless monsters and merciless gods.
The stories of how things used to be.
And now, she finds herself in the thick of it, with nobody to rely on but herself.
May the gods' blessing be with you, for you shall certainly need it.

Summary
Ever so slowly, things started changing. Charles spent more time in the library, never mind how his mates teased him, skimming through everything even slightly paranormal. Just in case. Sometimes he’d get to his room and his desk would be way neater than he’d left it; sometimes it’d be just the same, except that some old trinket had been pulled out from who-knows-where. There were flowers tucked in a couple of his books now, pressed flat and pretty, and Charles put them carefully back the few times they fell out, before he learnt how to hold the books up to prevent it. Once, when he was late for morning classes and stumbled out of his room with his tie all askew, he felt that cool brush like fingers at his throat, and no teacher gave him trouble for his appearance.
The day wasn’t anything special, except for that. Except that, at the end of it, Charles turned to the perpetual cold spot in his room and said, “Realise I never properly introduced myself, did I? My name’s Charlie – well, Charles, really. What’s yours?”
Or: Charles and his friendly boarding school ghost make each other’s acquaintance.

Summary
When a witch’s spell sends Edwin back in time to 1973, he has to learn the hard way that you cannot change the past.
You can, however, fill it with love.
*
He finds Charles in the lounge, strapped into a bouncing chair whilst his mother naps on the sofa. Charles is wide awake, burbling happily as he sucks on a toy, a mop of fine curls already sprouting from his head. His eyes dart around the room and when they land on Edwin, they linger, and he pulls the toy from his mouth and smiles.
Edwin has never been fond of babies, but Charles is the exception to the rule. The smile on his face is not nearly as charming as the one that has Edwin weak at the knees, but it is adorable in a different way entirely.
Charles babbles a stream of nonsense and then throws his toy towards Edwin. It lands on the floor between them and Charles’s face crumples when he realises that it is no longer in reach. Edwin does not think. He steps forward and picks up the toy, crouching down before Charles to press it into his tiny hand.
He does not take it. Instead, his hands reach up to pat at Edwin’s face.

Summary
The familiar script on the back of the card told him they were looking forward to having Lockwood back and meeting his girlfriend Lucy. Actually, it said your girlfriend. Lucy, the girlfriend of his mother’s youngest son. Not Lucy, the girlfriend of George’s employer, Anthony Lockwood.
…
A misunderstanding has George asking Lucy to pretend to be his girlfriend at the yearly Karim family Christmas gathering. Lucy does much less pretending than he expects.

Summary
Contrary to popular opinion, Lucy realises she’s in love with both boys on the same day.
She feels the tug in her gut, a pleasant twist as Lockwood bandages her sliced arm, cradling her hand with delicate fingers as he murmurs soft apologies.
Then she feels it again, less than an hour later, when George triumphantly takes Bobby Vernon – and by extension, the rest of Kipps’ team – down several pegs.
Oh, she thinks, looking from Lockwood’s wolfish grin to George’s proud beam. Oh dear.
or; Lucy is observant, Lockwood is over-protective and George gets snogged in the Archive stacks.
