    If there is one thing Billa Baggins isn’t, it is a hero. But when Billa finds herself in the past--before that dratted quest to reclaim Erebor even began--she may find that a hero is exactly what those daft dwarves of hers need. Because this time everybody lives.

    Or: Middle Earth's water supply is infected by the One Ring remaining in it for so long, giving everyone supernatural abilities. What follows is disaster at the One Ring's removal, a dragon living under the Lonely Mountain, dwarves who really don't know as much as they think, and one hobbit's very interesting, and very dangerous, ability.

    “You are going to send me back down there right now,” the figure snarled. “I don’t care how many rules it breaks; you are going to send me back.”
    “You did choose right,” the second voice mused. “How very curious.”
    There was a deep sigh, or rather the sensation of one. It wasn’t really clear where or how it started, but there must have been one for everyone present to understand the reality of something doing the sighing. And when that fourth not-voice spoke, it was entirely directed at the figure dripping blood onto the proverbial (and very literal) carpet.
    There is much I wish to discuss with you, my champion.
    The figure scowled. Swiping a hand over his face to remove the worst of the blood, he straightened up.
    “And I have a fair bit to discuss with you, I’d wager,” Ori spat. “Starting with why you’ve been talking to me for the last five months.”

    Or: how Aragorn became king, featuring the Valar and countless acts of great stupidity.

    In a mountain, standing like a knife against the eastern sky, there lived a hobbit.

    Not a cold, draughty crypt of a mountain, filled with cries of the dead and pain of the living, nor yet a new-born colony, striking out its place in the world. It was Erebor, and Bilbo Baggins had made the choice to remain six months prior, after the Battle of the Five Armies had solidified the Kingdom as one to be respected once more.

    Something in his pocket began to stir.

    Or: Bilbo Baggins discovers The One Ring. Everyone has a bad time.

     

    (This is a sequel. The previous works total around 13k, including a one-shot of skippable smut. All smut associated with this work will be placed in skipabble side stories. Please do not be put off by the archive warnings on the others as it is NOT WHAT YOU THINK. I highly reccomend reading at least CYTM first.)
